The movement away from printed identification documents to the creation of a global digital ID for every person began in earnest several years ago. When the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, spoke to the “One Future” section of the G20 Summit in India (Sept. 9-10, 2023), she advocated for a global digital ID system to replace all current IDs. Von der Leyen said that this ID would be similar to the COVID-19 digital certificate that the EU invented at the height of the pandemic. In a subsequent X post (formerly Twitter), von der Leyen further said, “Digital public infrastructures are an accelerator of growth. They must be trusted, interoperable & open to all.”

Von der Leyen’s call for a global digital ID system is not unique. There are growing voices from many countries that are all calling for a global ID that would be universally compatible between different regions and countries. It is not surprising that the digital ID is being developed alongside the Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) that will transform monetary systems from paper money into solely electronic form. Thus, the end result of both systems would be a new digital ID that will positively identify all individuals combined with a digital currency to track everything that people buy or sell.

Does this sound familiar? It should, because the final economic system of the Beast which the Antichrist will demand that everyone submit to, is predicted to be a mark on a person’s right hand or forehead for identification combined with a cashless, digital economy for all buying and selling (Rev. 13:16-17). Incredibly, the technology to implement the Mark of the Beast is being developed even before the rise of the Antichrist!

Previously, von der Leyen had said during the 2021 European Digital Assembly that the EU would soon develop a government mandated digital wallet and “a new digital identity”. She went on to say that the digital ID “will allow everyone to control their identity online, and to interact with governments and businesses, across the EU”.

The global digital ID system would be much more than just a drivers’ license or state-sponsored ID. It would maintain critical and personal information, including drivers licenses, account login details, passwords, passports, and also be able to use biometric data, such as an eye or hand scan for the unique positive identifiers that validate each citizen’s identity. The EU implementation of the global digital ID would also give people access to government services, websites, allow them to pay bills, and travel anywhere with security. No doubt governments will also require it to obtain or hold a job.

In early 2019, the ID2020 group completed the technical requirements and launched the ID2020 Certification Mark. It’s incredible that this ID certification is associated with a MARK. Bible prophecy is being made possible before our eyes just as predicted for the End Times. “Our Certification Mark is the first step in a long process towards achieving “good” digital identity for all”, ID2020 stated in their announcement. They went on to say, “…the Certification Mark should be seen as a mark of distinction, an indication that a technology meets our technical requirements. The result is a public, fully accessible certification process that serves as one step in a long process towards realizing ‘good digital identity for all’.”

The ID2020 Certification Mark is being developed particularly for the Internet of Things (IoT). It will create a global digital ID for every physical item that is connected to the online world, ensuring operability and security from malicious software or hacking.

The Certification Mark is currently being applied by the Kiva Protocol and Gravity.Earth. The Kiva Protocol is developing secure financial accessibility for all people, including the poor. This effort will go a long way in getting every last person on Earth to participate in the global digital ID and digital currency systems.

Gravity.Earth is developing an identity wallet application and a verifiable data exchange system in the cloud using encrypted data fragments stored in different locations, which can only be pieced back together by someone with the right global digital ID credentials.

This digital ID system will eventually be extended to people, and just as an item is marked with the Certification Mark, so too will people soon be marked—exactly as the Book of Revelation predicts. This is what the Bible predicts the Antichrist will do once he comes to power:

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

The global digital ID is being developed at the same time as the CBDCs and the Digital Euro (which is now scheduled to be launched in 2025). The need for valid identification will first be met by a global digital ID that will be in card format or stored on a smart phone in your digital wallet, or both.

In 2023, the United Nations proposed a global digital ID system that would be tied with everyone’s bank accounts and payment apps. UN Secretary General António Guterres is advocating for the rapid development of a universal network that will quickly verify people’s identity on a global basis. In the UN’s companion Policy Brief 5, A Global Digital Compact—An Open, Free and Secure Digital Future for All, they describe their goal is toward “shaping a shared vision on digital cooperation by providing an inclusive global framework”. The brief discusses the importance of bringing every person into this digital future by providing a secure global digital ID.

The security of this ID will be done through blockchain technology, the same complex mathematical algorithm that protects a person’s ownership of cryptocurrency. Thus, once a person obtains a global digital ID, the unique identifying nature of it is secured by an encryption technique that theoretically prevents hacking or fraud.

However, it will quickly become apparent that even with a highly secure global digital ID system, hackers will still find a way to breach the databases and obtain confidential user information. The lack of complete security will be the main driver in developing even more secure solutions that combine the global digital ID and the digital currencies with biometric scanning to positively identify each individual. Unfortunately, the digital cards or smartphones containing your digital wallets can still be stolen, which will leave people without the ability to access their accounts or participate in society.

The obvious solution to this problem is to have a global digital ID MARK that can be used to identify each person by placing it on or in their bodies. It is this Mark of the Beast that the Antichrist will demand that every person obtain to become a certified member of his empire.

Once this new digital system is in place, the governments, central banks, and their subsidiary banks and financial institutions will have complete control over every person’s assets. There will be no more allowance for stashes of cash or other forms of money such as gold, silver, or private cryptocurrency. Physical money will be made illegal unless it is exchanged for the sanctioned digital currency.

No one can tell me that the Bible is not true when we see prophecies like this taking place before our very eyes! However, the Mark of the Beast is not just an interesting prophecy. It will be a disaster for anyone who obtains it. The Book of Revelation issues this dire warning to those who take the Mark:

“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
