Jerusalem is predicted to become the focal point of all the world’s troubles at the end.  The Lord said over 2500 years ago that he would make Jerusalem a cup of trembling for all people and gather all nations to battle against it at the end (Zechariah 12:2 and 14:2).  In our day, Jerusalem has been the main stumbling block in the Israeli – Palestinian conflict and the fact that the Temple Mount region contains an Islamic temple (the Dome of the Rock) instead of the Jewish Temple has greatly increased the tensions.  As the end draws near, watch Israel and particularly Jerusalem for increasing controversy, fear, and conflict.  The entire world’s fate will revolve around Jerusalem as the Coming of Christ approaches.
